Washington is receiving push back not only from the Chinese telecom giant Huawei but also from some of its closest allies. France said it would not block Huawei from building the infrastructure for its 5G network despite Washington labeling it a threat to national security. President Emmanuel Macron said it is not in his country's interests to take part in a tech war. The German and Dutch leaders have also made it clear that they will not follow Washington's lead. Meanwhile, Huawei said it will now use its own chips in its products after the U.S. banned it from buying components from American companies.
