Today, on our 2018 Mazda CX-5, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains, part number TH01594247. These tire chains are very easy to use and install. They also have a self-tensioning system right here, which means we don't have to worry about purchasing extra rubber adapters to make sure that our chains stay snug against our tire. These chains have a diamond pattern, and when compared to other designs, it's gonna give you more coverage around your tire and provide you with a lot better traction. The square links right here are gonna really dig into that snow and ice, and give you the bite you need for starts, stops, and turns. Their low profile is gonna provide a much smoother and quieter ride as compared to most other larger chains that are on the market today.

These chains have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour, and they come in a quantity of two with this durable carrying case, which makes for easy storage. It also comes with gloves and a kneeling pad.Now that we've gone over some of those features, lets install them together. The first thing you wanna do before installing your chains, is to look them over, kind of lay them out flat, and you wanna make sure that there's no kinks, twists, or tangles in the chain. You also wanna make sure that these hooks right here are facing down towards the ground like that, so the smooth surface is facing up. Once the chains are installed, this smooth surface is what's gonna be rubbing against your tire, so it's not gonna damage it.Now, we can take our chains and slide them behind our tire.

You wanna make sure that you mark this section right here at the half-way point. Now we're gonna take both sides of our cable and bring it up behind our tire and connect it.From there, we can take our chain and start to drape it over the top and sides of our tire. Now, we're gonna take our red link right here and put it on our red hook. Now, we can take our long gray cable right here, and begin to feed it through our red channel. You're gonna have to push it up through there.

Once you get that, you can then begin to pull it up until it's tight. We're gonna grab this red hook and pull it down and connect it. You just repeat these same steps for the other set of chains. It's always a good idea to drive forward a bit once you have both of them installed, and then get out and check to see if any adjustments need to be made. Once you're done with that, you're ready to hit the road.

That's gonna do it for our Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains on our 2018 Mazda CX-5.
